Lehigh Greenway Rail Trail

Add

The Lehigh Greenway Rail Trail is located in Flagler County on 6.8 miles of abandoned railroad corridor, comprising 194.95 acres. The Trail parallels the Lehigh Canal for much of its length and extends from US 1 north of Bunnell, through the Town Center of Palm Coast, through Graham Swamp and ends at Colbert Lane immediately west of the old Lehigh Portland Cement Company. Palm Coast is the only incorporated area the Trail passes through but the Trail also has nearby connection potential to the Cities of Bunnell and Flagler Beach.

Trees surround the trail virtually the entire distance. There are only two at grade crossings at Old Kings Road and Belle Terre Parkway. No other roads enter or cross the trail and no homes or driveways have direct access to the trail. The design precludes hidden or secret points of access since private roads are not permitted to enter the trail right-of-way.

The same trail characteristics that promote safety also help support environmental protection. No surface or effluent flow from public yards or factories or stores can flow directly onto the trail or the adjoining water body. The trail is buffered by distance and by heavy vegetation that will absorb runoff and suppress noise pollution.
